Tovar Dal

Easy to make and healthy. I have this dal very often for lunch.

Prep time : 10 Cooking time : 15 minutes Serves : 4

1 cup Tovar dal
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 sliced onion
1/4 tsp haldi
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp sugar
bay leaves
Salt to taste



Wash and then soak the Tovar dal for 30 minutes. Then pressure cook the dal with 2 cups of water.

Heat the oil.

Add the cumin seeds (jeera) and chopped onions.

Add the haldi, chilli powder, bay leaves, salt and a little sugar.

Add the dal and cook for 10 minutes.
